Abstract

Complete dentures have a rich history that dates back thousands of years. The earliest known attempts at tooth replacement can be traced to the Etruscans around 630 BCE, who used gold bands to support missing teeth1. The development of modern complete dentures gained significant momentum in the 18th and 19th centuries, driven by advancements in dental materials and techniques. Today, complete dentures are meticulously designed prosthetic devices that restore both oral function and aesthetics for individuals who have lost all their natural teeth in one or both arches.
