ABSTRACT
PURPOSE: This paper aims to write a systematic review paper on the uses, sources, and importance of Medicinal Plants in Cancer Treatments and their role in the Indonesian Pharmaceutical Industry.
METHODOLOGY: This paper is based on Qualitative Research Analysis. Furthermore, it reviews 70
papers based on the conceptual background of Medicinal Plants.
FINDINGS: Medicinal plants have long been used to treat a range of maladies, and they are one of the most important sources of novel pharmacologically active chemicals identified and exploited in
the development of new pharmaceuticals by the pharmaceutical industry. Compounds isolated from
the Medicinal Plant have been proven to have anti-cancer properties, such as inhibiting cancer cell
proliferation and triggering apoptotic cell death.
ORIGINALITY/VALUE: This paper provides knowledge about Medicinal Plants and allows the
pharmaceutical industry to practically use the Medicinal Plants to extract the drugs used to cure cancer.
